CABINET RECONSTRUCTION. CONSIDERED CERTAIN. (Received Sunday, 10.5 a.m.) LONDON, Sunday. The political situation has momentarily quietened but subterranean unrest continues. Cabinet reconstruction is regarded as certain, although every effort is being made to delay it until after the King’s Jubilee celebrations.
The bulk of the Conservatives insist that Mr Ramsay MacDonald must be replaced. He might go to the House of Lords or retire.
All enthusiasm for Mr Lloyd George has disappeared.
