BRITISH FLEET’S TEST. LONDON, Friday. The Atlantic manoeuvres of 11th March will be the biggest for three years, engaging ten battleships, two battle-cruisers, 14 cruisers, five arid ahalf flotillas of destroyers, and 16 other ships. High maximum speeds are allowable, ranging from 16 to 24 knots. The opposing fleets will determine the vital problem of whether Britain can maintain food supplies faced with a strong Atlantic sea power. The results of the manoeuvres will probably depend on whether the Red Fleet, representing Britain, is able to use aircraft to 1 ;cate and bomb its adversaries, and probably inflict decisive damage on them. The Red Fleet’s task is to prevent the Blue Fleet seizing neutral ports near Gibraltar, thus obtaining a base of attack on the Red Land’s Mediterranean trade.
