GRAVE SITUATION
SPANISH POLITICS UNREST INCREASING. Press Association Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received Monday, 8.45 a.m.) MADRID, Sunday. The Cabinet of the Right Centre Coalition, which Senor Lerroux has formed, comprises eight Radicals, one each from the Agrarian, Liberal, Democrat and Progressive Parties, and two Independents. It includes eight former Ministers. I The present Cabinet can count on 30 more votes in the Cortes than its predecessor, but can total only 141 out of 475. Nevertheless, the fact that Senor Lerroux apparently accepts the terms dictated by the Agrarians assures his temporary support by the Catholics and other Rightists. The terms of the Agrarians included pay for rural clergy and a general amnesty, to include Sanjurjo. The situation remains grave. Nobody believes that the Cabinet can last. Senor Lerroux appears tired and bewildered. It cannot be long before the Radicals are brushed aside and replaced by a strong Right Government under the Catholic leader, Senor Robles, which would immediately attempt to establish a corporative State, based on Catholic Social principles. The Socialists remain undecided whether to forestall Senor Robles by a coup d’etat or wait until Senor Lerroux falls. Senor Robles says: “My party will only support the Government from session to session, and will throw it out immediately it moves any Bill opposed to Catholic demands. ’ ’ The unrest generally is increasing, and there are fears of a general strike to-morrow. The police are guarding all buildings under construction, owing to the builders’ operatives threatening violence if their wages ate not increased.
