HUNGER MARCHERS
LONDON DEMONSTRATION. (Received Mondav, 10.35 a.in.) LONDON, Sunday. In order to enable the workers to reply to Mr Ramsay MacDonald, a mass meeting in support of the hunger marchers was held in Trafalgar Square this afternoon, thousands marching to the scene from all parts of London. A strong force of police isolated the square and kept the traffic circulating. The proceedings were orderly, apart from apples and fireworks being thrown at the mounted police. The speakers, including Messrs Mann and Pollitt, delivered addresses from the plinth of the Nelson column. Mr Mannington also spoke. The meeting resolved to send a deputation to the Government regarding the Unemployment Bill.
The demonstrators marched off in a slight drizzle.
