MEASLES EPIDEMIC
COUNTRY SCHOOLS CLOSED. CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. Two further country schools in North Canterbury, at Ashley and Governor’s Bay, have been closed owing to measles, making eight so far affected. In the city a number of schools report a stead-ily-decreasing attendance. —(P.A.) MORE SCHOOLS CLOSED. RAPID SPREAD OF EPIDEMIC. CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. The total number of schools in Canterbury that have been closed is now eight. None of them is in the city, though the epidemic is spreading rapidly and attendances at the city schools are greatly reduced.—(P.A.)
