RETURNED SOLDIERS
WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION. MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A mooting of the committee of tlic Wairarapa R.S.A. was held in Masterton last evening. There were present: Messrs J. If. Irving (in the chair), G. Oornick, I). M. Pollock, G. M. Permain, AY. J. White and .T. McGregor. Messrs A. T. Whyte and Gibb Johnston, of the Carterton Sub-Branch, were also present. Apologies for absence were accepted from Messrs E. S. Smith and W. R. Birch. The financial membership was reported to stand at 338. Tentative arrangements were made for the disposal of 4000 poppies throughout the district during April, and preliminary arrangements for the Anzac Day Memorial Service were also discussed. _ It was decided to distribute printed emblems of red poppies to all the children throughout the primary schools ot the Wairarapa, and 'a sub-committee was set up to deal with the matter. Five new members were elected. The secretary reported upon a number of cases which had been taken up on behalf of partially disabled soldiers, with a view to reinstatement of pension. A quantity of routine business was also transacted.
