MAN FOUND SHOT
TRAGEBY AT EEATHERSTON. CARTERTON, This Day. A middle-aged man, named Walter Jamieson, employed on one of the coastal boats now at Wellington, and who was spending a holiday with his sister, Mrs Johnson, of Feathers ton, was found dead last night. Deceased went rabbiting in the afternoon and failed to return. A party was organised and found the body lying less than half a mile from the house with a discharged gun alongside. From the indications it appeared that the deceased accidentally shot himself when getting through a fance. He had a terrible wound in the stomach. The body was removed to Featherston for an inquest. —(P.A.)
