TENNYSON’S TEAM DEFEATED,
KINGSTON, Saturday
Signs point to the defeat of Tennyson’s team of English cricketers, as tne second day of the match with the Colony of Jamaica ended to-day with the Englishmen out in the first innings for 333, whereas the Jamaicans had scored 39:; for five wickets. Headley scored 140, and Barrow 151 not out.
J. Barr, playing for Messrs. C. E, Daniel!, Ltd., against Messrs. Tlios Borthwiek and Sons, Ltd., on Saturday performed the “hat trick.”
A match played at Masterton during the week-end between a Masterton Nomads’ team and Bideford resulted in a win for the latter team. Bideford compiled 102 (W. A. Bunny 53), and 5 for 176 (R. Bunny retired 4S, F. Falloon retired 39). The Nomads made 45 (R. Bunny 7 wickets for 24) and 30.
