Entries for tlio Masterton Show are coming to hand in all sections. In Lincoln sheep classes, the Ormond Cooper Silver Shield, valued at £l5O, is open for competition for most points. The Bland Bayner Cup—the winner to receive a miniature cup—is awarded for the best shearling. lit addition, there are the North Island A. and P. Conference gold medals for champion ram and ewe; also the Percy Bros.’ Cup for the best pen of four flock rams. Lincolns are more favoured than a few years back, and tnere will bo entries from several well-known breeders. The Bomneys will also be a very strong class. The Perry Cup, for best ram under 21 months, and the Southey Cup for the best ewe lamb —the winner to receive a miniature —will be competed for. In the unhoused Bomneys there is the Holmes Warren Memorial Cup for most points, the winner to receive a miniature. Two extra classes have been added here, and should result in good competition, as these classes are very much favoured. In Southdown classes there is the Reginald Collins Cup for most points, and for the unhoused classes there are three cups offered by local breeders. There are several cups in the freezing and fat classes for sheep and lambs also cash prizes of £ls on the London judging. Intending exhibitors are asked to make their entries as early as possible. Entries for both the Show and Bam Fair close on the 30th inst. Beds are available for men in charge of livo stock, free of charge, and all meals may be had on the grounds. PRESIDENT’S APPEAL. » The following circular, headed “Let’s Be Normal,” has been issued to members of the Association by the president (Mr J. M. James): —“It is the aim of tho General Committee to strengthen, perpetuate and extend our association. Irt view of the near approach of the 45th annual show, I have been requested to bring three matters to your notice. Firstly. —We are desirous of every available entry, and will be glad to hear from all old and new members and competitors. Secondly. Contrary to the custom of the past two years, no tickets are being sent to members until the subscription has been paid. ‘Enclosed please find cheque or entry’ is the cheeriest form of greeting for the times. Thirdly—With high hopes for the future, I ask you to support the pride of our district, the Masterton A. and I’. Show. ”
