SHORT BETROTHALS.
A WOMAN’S WARNING. PARIS, Monday. Mme.. Jean Assolant, the American ex-wife of the French aviator, was, married after three days’ acquaintance and was recently divorced. She is returning to America, with the intention of urging the desirability of long betrothals. ‘‘ By lecture,- sound films, and writing I propose to set women on their guard against what,l consider a danger. In my own whirlwind courtship there were exceptional conditions. Assolant was on the point of an 'adventure in which he succeeded magnificently, but it might have cost him his life. Personally I wonder whether I had the right to refuse him the encouragement and moral aid which, he insisted he had found in the knowledge that I was his wife. ”
