FRENCH STABILITY.
IN WORLD CRISIS. INCREASE IN INDUSTRY. PARIS, Sunday. M. Tardieu, speaking, at a banquet, emphasised that in the midst of a world crisis France enjoyed economic and political stability. The gold reserves covering currency had doubled during two years, and were at present £400,000,000. There had been a four per cent increase in industry in the first quarter of the present year, compared with 1928, and there were only a thousand unemployed.
