A BOMBAY PROBLEM. ■ ’ ■ l ■ GAOLS OVERCROWDED, ■ ■ Press Association Electric Telegraph—‘Copyright DELHI, Monday. The Bombay Government is faced with the problem of aecQmmodating five thousand 1 odd prisoners sentenced for civil disobedience during the last few months. At present there are 200 convictions daily in the Bombay city area, and the gaols are rapidly becoming overcrowded. Even new concentration camps and temporary gaols are filled. The''Government is likely to, follow the scheme Adopted by the Punjab and Assam Governments, and discharge ordinary convicts for trivial offences to make room for political offenders. Under the scheme two thousand would be released who have served half their sentences and have exemplary records in gaol.
