Bell, 10 -Church Street, Masterton. The dates fixed, May'l4 to 19 (in■clusiTe) coincide with the school term holidays. The opening session will be•gin at 9.30 a.m. on Monday, May 141 :and at 0 a.m. on each succeeding day. Mr H. Temple White, of Wellington, as judge of the vocal and instrumental music, Mr J. F. Montague, Auckland, is elocutionary judge, and Miss Con■sance MacDonald, of Napier, will again officiate in the fancy dancing section. The national dancing judge has vet to be appointed.' The syllabus is practically the same ■as that of last year, the executive having found it to be most satisfactory to all concerned. With the book are . published some practical hints to competitors and others, as there is a growing tendency to be careless with the King’s English. The principal object of Die Competitions Society is to encourage and estivate a taste for good music, literati; and art.
