INDIGNATION EXPRESSED. ‘ by AIR.-IT. E. HOLLAND. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) GREYMOUTII, Thursday. Mr 11. E. Holland, Leader of the' who officially ojmnod the Goman ga Domain yesterday, spoke last night at a banquet in Eunanga. In reference to the Samoan deportations theso he characterised as a shocking administrative outrage that would make the name of New Zealand a byword throughout the civilised world. 'The men who were being deported were guilty of nothing more than con--stitutional opposition to the policy of the New Zealand administration in Samoa,, and the Government could 'have no cnore justification for their deporfS|fm than it would have if it *. fSOUght'*to deport members of the of--0 ficial Opposition hero. Air Nelson was i one of the properly elected Parliamentary representatives of the European people in Samoa, and his .deportation __ would stand for an intimation to both ’■ Europeans and Samoans that they must not expect to gain redress of their IPjpPFimato grievances through constitutional channels. AH Nelson was a native born Samoan, and the two other . ; elected representatives who also were •threatened with deportation had been long years in Samoa. Air Westbrook had been there for more than fifty years.
