(CHRISTCHURCH EARTHQUAKE. ((By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. .At 1.54 a.m. to-day a slight shock of woke a good many people in rtlie city and surrounding areas, but it -was not as severe as some of the minor North Canterbury ’quakes, and lasted .altogether about a minute. The tremors appeared to come from tfhe direction of Cheviot.
