BUT ESCAPE FROM POLICE. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. The police were hot on the trail of t'vo robbers who broke into a chemist’s shop at St. Alban’s, Christchurch, this morning, but the thieves made off when the police approached. The police were called by a neigh--I,our, who heard noises at the shop. A sergeant and constable were approaching when they saw the men rush out with two bags of loot. 3he police gave chase, but the thieves got a wav, dropping one of their bags in their (light. - The chemist estimated his loss at £lO.
