OLD AGE BENEFITS. 'RUGBY, Wednesday. New pensions benefits to operate from January 2, will increase the total number of persons benefited under the Government Widows, Orphans and Old Age Contributory Pensions Act to 1,158,600. New pensions have been awarded to 145,000 insured persons between the ages of 65 and 70, who thus become entitled next month to draw for the first time an old-age pension 'of 10s a week, without reference to their income from other sources. —British Official Wireless.
