THE PARKER MURDER.

The whole population of (he city is so aroused over the murder of Marian Parker the 15-year-old daughter of a Los Angeles banker, that the police arc having the greatest difficulty in keeping the mobs from taking justice into their own hands whenever a suspect is arrested, which occurs several times daily. The police declare that the murderer has been positively identified as a young man aged 17, now in Los .Angeles, but whose home is in Kansas City. They assert that the motive of the crime was revenge because the young man was recently convicted of forgery while employed in the bank, of which Perry Parker, the father of the murdered girl, is the executive. lie was liberated on parole against Darker \s strenuous protests. The police state that the fingerprints on the abandoned motor-ear and elsewhere tally with the youth's in the “Rogues’ Gallery,” and also that five persons identified photographs, including a, teacher, who let the kidnapper take the child from school. One young man arrested strongly resembled the suspect, but completely proved his innocence, yet not before he was almost taken by the mob, which the police forced back with the greatest d ifficulty.
