ABANDONMENT URGED. AS A CONTRIBUTION TO PEACE. Piess Association-Electric Telegraph-Copyright. (Received Tuesday, 9.25 a.m.) LONDON, Monday. As a contribution to peace, and also to diminish the risk a naval raed, the “Daily Mail,” in a leader, suggests the abandoning of the Singapore Base, thereby reassuring Japan and relieving British finance. It says: Singapore is valueless strategically, because it is undefendable; also the situation does not servo to protect Australia and New Zealand. —Sun.
