Many gold relies arc among the discoveries at the Ur of Chaldees, according to tho report of the joint expedition from the British museum and tiie Pennsylvania University. A Royal prince’s grave dating, probably, from 5500 8.C., contained a gold head-dress, and gold wig and nearby golden bowls, a lamp, beads, earrings, rings, silver daggers with gold hilts, gold-mounted spears and many articles of silver lapis lazuli. Other finds showed that the women once wore hair in a net woven of gold ribbons, from which hung bands of lapis cornelian. They also wore huge ear pendants.
