COLLEGE OF CARDINALS.
TO BE ENLARGED. (Received Tuesday, 5.50 p. 111.) ROME, November 29. It is reported that the Pope is enlarging the Sacred College of Cardinals from seventy to eighty, in order to increase the representation of nonEuropean countries, particularly America, Australia and Canada. The changes involve the abandonment of the traditional number of seventy and also the revision of canon law. —(A. and N.Z.)
