WIMBLEDON TOURNEY. MLLE. LENGLEN BEATS MISS FRY (Received Saturday, 11.15 a.m.) LONDON, Friday. In the final of the women’s singles at Wimbledon, Mile. Lenglen beat Miss Fry, 6/2, 6/0. The weather was showery and the final was delayed for -5 minutes by rain. Miss Fry scored only 2i2 : points. It was remarkable that her hitherto wonderful forehand was made to appear weak, though her reputedly weak backhand was very sound. , , Mile. Lenglen, was almost motionless and kept her opponent running to and fro on the baseline by superb placing. Miss Fry’s wonderful mobility was a feature.
