ALLEGED THEFT.
THE GINSBERG CASE. ACCUSED REMANDED. : . (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. Raleigh Ginsberg, aged 29, described as an agent, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court to-day charged with the theft of £IOO. The chief detective asked for a remand to July Bth, and suggested tjhat if bail was asked for it should be made substantial; as he had been informed that accused was making preparation? to leave the country.
This was emphatically denied by accused’s counsel.
The chief detective said he understood the total amount involved would run into £IOOOO. A remand was granted, bail being allowed (self in £4OO, or two sureties of £2OO each), accused to report daily to the police.
