HARRIER CLUB.

SAUNDERS CUP CONTEST. The annual contest for the Saunders Cup between the Hutt Valley Harriers and the local club will take place front the Park Oval to-morrow afternoon. Thirty-one runners from the Hutt and Petone are making the journey to take part in the contest. As the visitors are the present champions of the Wellington provincial district, the local boys are up against a strong proposition, despite which they have every prospect of winning, as the personnel of the club is much in advance of previous season. The first twelve men home im bach club are to count as the team. Starting .at i 2.30 sharp,-the race will begin from the oval, at the south gate, down Church street, and across to River road, making a turn back and over the’ Waipoua stock bridge to the hospital suspension bridge, centering the Park and crossing'the oval, and again, repeating the journey. As the runners will cross the oval three times, spectators will have a splendid opportunity of watching the progress of the race. There will be approximately 60 starters.

Mr A. E. Vare, an ex-Australian harrier, has donated two fine medals for the individual winner and runner-up. After the race the Masterton Club will entertain the visitors at, tea in the Social Hall. A complimentary dance in the evening will be held in the large Municipal Hall, for which very complete arrangements have been made.
