WRIGHT STREET.
ITS EXTENSION. MATTER BEFORE BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING. At the Borough Council meeting last evening, Or, McLeod asked that advantage be taken of the fact that. Mr 11. C. Robinson xvas present at the meet; ing to ascertain whether that gentleman could give them any information regarding the . proposal to extend Wright street from the top of Tararua street to Reuall street, so as to get a straight connection between Cornwall street and Renall street. Mr Robinson said that he could say, with regard to one of the owners, that he would be.prepared to give the land, although it would not pay him to form or construct' the street. He believed the owner of the land facing" Renall street was in the same position. But there was always a liability in the way. Renall street was being filled up, and there xvas the possibility of the, land at the Renall street end beingsold and a dwelling erected thereon. In that case the opportunity -would be finally gone. His own personal yiexv, was that the Council should endeavour to obtain the'gift of the land, although they might (not actually make , he. street for a number of years.’ Cr.
