Mr Samuel Gompers (president of the American Labour Federation), in a statement at Cleveland, said that the conditons of the workers in jthe United, States were worse financially than before' the war. It was no wonder, therefore, that they were becoming impatient and disregarding the discipline usually practised by the Labour Unions.
