A HAMILTON CASE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAMILTON, Tuesday. At the Magistrate's Court to-day, William Fleming was charged with a breach of tho Military Service Act by refusing to answer questions put to him by a police constable. The police evidence was to the effect that accused was engaged iv bushfelling at Mahoenui, and when asked for his registration card was unable to produce it. He refused to answer any questions. It had since been ascertained that he was recently discharged from Wanganui Prison, where he served a month for. failure to enrol. The police characterised the case as one of deliberate shirking and defiance of tire law, and asked for a substantial penalty. Accused was sentenced to three months' imprisonment.
