OBITUARY.
ME A. HATEIOK. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, Wednesday. Mr Alexander Ilatriek, of Wanganui, the well known merchant, died last evening, aged 60. Branches of his business extended all over the North Island, aud he is probably best known in connection with the opening up and advertising of tho Wanganui river as a tourist route. He was Mayor for many years. It was due to his foresight that the gasworks were municipalised. Trams wero established and many other important works were carried out by him.
