LONDON WOOL SALES.
Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Co., London, have advised Messrs Murray, Roberts aud Co., Wellington, that the following fixtures have been made for tho 1908 wool sales :■—First series, 21st January; second, 17th March; third, 12th May; fourth, 14th Jnly; fifth, 29th September; (sth, 24th November.
Dalgety aud Company, Ltd., Wellington, have received tlte following advices by cable from their London houso, dated the 7th instant:— Butter—Market weak, and the Copenhagen official quotation is lower by four kroner (about 4s (id) per cwt. We expecc lower prices. The total imports into the United Kingdom for the week ending the 2nd instant amounted to (57,000 cwt. as compared with 71,000 for the corresponding week of 190(5. Finest qualities are realising 1225, unsalted 1245. The market is depressed, aud consumers are holding off.
Sheepskins—Combing greasy merino aud flue crossbred skins are %d to %d lower. Coarse crossbred and clothing ;k>d lower. "Hides (in general) lower by > 4 d. Leather aud basils—Prices are unchanged. Tallow—Buyers are holding off, and the following quotations are merely nominal. Good colour beef, 43U' degrees titre, 31s i)d ; 43 degrees titre 31s (id; 43>.> to 45 degrees, 30s 9d, with 3d extra for each half degree.
