WOOL AND SKIN SALES.
The fortuiglitly sales of wool, skins, hides and tallow were held by Wellington brokers yesterday. Good catalogues were submitted, aud the sales were well attended. The fall in the prices of sheepskins on the London market was reflected here, prices being J£d to l /A lower thau two weeks ago. Hides were firm at late rates. Very little wool was offered, as the first sale of the season is fixed for next Friday. Sheepskins sold as follows: — Halfbred to fine crossbred 8d to medium 7%d to 8y 4 d, coarse (id to 7%d, (id to 7d, inferior 4d to merinos 7d to Bd, green skins os to 8s Bd each. Hides—Heavy ox to (Jd, medium 4%d to (sd, heavy cows 5d to 5%d, medium 4%d to calves od to (5%d. TallowCasks £2(5 to £20 10s per ton, tins 17s to 2'3s 6d per csvt, rough fat 13s 9d to 18s 3d.
