What Constitutes Licensed
Premises
(By Telegraph —Press A ssociation) Woodville, This Day. A man, charged with being on licensed premises during the currency of a prohibition order, set up the defence that the part of the premises he was on —to wit, tho stables, were not licensed premises within the meaning of the Act. The stables are leased by another person than the licensee, and counsel for defendant submitted that they could not be termed licensed premises.
The Magistrate (Mr W. P. James) held that they were licensed premises, and fined defendant 40s and costs.
