PAHIATUA NOTES.

Monday being St. Peter's day, special services were held in St. Peter's Church during the day. In the ovening the Eov. V. H. Kitcat, Vicar of Eketahuna, preached a most eloquent sermon to a large congregation, his text being " Tell his disciples and Peter." Dr. Gault, at one time in partnership with Dr. Dawson, arrived here on Saturday last, and was welcomed by his many friends. During his absence in the Old Country he has been studying his profession, and ia now entitled to the letters M.D. and F.R.C.S. Ho has brought a complete set of X Rays with him from England. Great preparatians are being made for the Pahiatua Bifies' annual ball, to be held this evening.

The football match on Saturday last, Pahiatua v.Konini, was the most exciting game this season. The Mayor (Mr W. Tosswill) has donated a belt for competition among members of any volunteer corps. The belt is now on exhibition in Mr Oxley's window.
