MAURICEVILLE NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent).
Nine members of the Rifle Club coin* peted for trophies at the local range on Saturday, but owing to a bad light and tricky wind the scoring was unusually low. Mr H. J. Dagg headed the list with a score seventy, Mr Mcllvride being second with sixty-eight.
At a meeting of the Club held in the evening, it was decided to again approach the Government, with a view to obtaining last year's capitation grant of ammunition. The Secretary was instructed to write inviting a team from the Masterton Mounted Rifles to fire a match at Mauriceville, on Thursday t 12lL March. The Mauriceville team will be chosen from the following:—X. F. Wilton, D. H. Rutherford, C. Blewett, A. Larsen, C. Brooks, F. Kuimner, C. Hoffeins, C. H. Smith, H. J. Dagg, W. Day, J. Jacobsen, D. Brown, W. Judd, P. Mcllvride and E. Dagg.
A case of scarlet fever has been ported here.
Mr and Mrs J. Carroll left last week on a holiday trip to Auckland and Rotorua.
