Last Night's Meeting.

A meeting in connection with the proposal to hold a " First Annual Dinner " hi connection with craftsmen engaged in the printing trado in Wairarapa, was held in the Empire Hotel, Masteifcou, last evening, and was well attended, Mr N. J. Benningfcon being voted to the chair. Considerable business of a routine character was necessary to bring the matter of arrangement to a successful conclusion. It was decided, however, on the motion of Mr L. Williams, that -J} the d'uner bo given on Saturday next, as on that date the SouthroP" printers would be in Masterton to play the annual football match with their Northei j opponents, besides which Mr Frank Roydhouse, of Gladstone, and Messrs Green and Cullen, of Masterton, would be present and duly honoured as Beturned Troopers and fellow-craftsman at tho samo time. As regards the Printers,' Football Match, a committee was appointed to wait upon the authorities concerned in the mattor of granting the use of the Paris Oval, and the taking up of a collection, in aid of the Masterton Hospital, at tho Park gates. Mr Donald Nicholson was appointed Referee, Mr Iveson to act as Northern line-umpire, tho South to elect their own as is oustomary. Mr Len Williams was elected Captain of tho home team, who will be photographed with tho visitors on arrival, and tho latter subsequently enterta'ued at tho dinner, all expenses being borne by tho former, as iv tho case of the recent defeat by Mr Daniell's employes. Mr Bennington was appointed Secretary a and Treasurer, and all present undertook to assist in making the,first function a success, it being a unique occasion in the history'of the trade in' Wak'arap^
