H Z. DEFEATS WAKEFIELD (Per Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, December 28. The League team beat Wakefield bv ■29 points to '24. The team scored seven tries and four goals, and Wakefield four tries, three goals and three penalty goals. There were 7090 spectators. The visiters gave a. delightful exhibition, and the best display of attacking seen in Wakefield for a long time. They started sensationally, running strongly and passing magnificently, promising for a time to gain a sweeping victory. They speedily rattled up a big lead in the first half, Gardiner, Kii wan and Brown scoring tries, of which Dufty consented two. Davies scored a try for Wakefield and Pollard kicked «a goal from a penalty. The home team rallied in the second half, Davies, Waters and Parkin scoring, and Pollard goaling five times (twice from penalties). like Ne.w Zealand attack continued vigorously, although their defence was faulty. Avery Hall <and Mason added tries, Dufxyj whose kicking was admirable throughout rne match converting twice.
