THE TIMARU TOURNEY. (Per Press Association—Copyright) TIMARU, December 29. The Christmas bowling tournament here this year drew competitors from Rotorua to the Bluff. Rain caused a postponement on Christmas Day, but the weather has been tine since. The finals of the Rinks and Pairs were reached to-day. The South Canterbury Rinks were won by Taieri, who beat Timaru, the scores being 22-21. The Timaru Rinks were won by Waimate, the scores being Waimate 21, Park (Timaru) 20. Oamaru beat Temuka in the South Canterbury Pairs, the scores being Oamaru (Meadowbank) 21, Temuka 15. The Timaru Pairs were won by Ashburton, the scores being Ashburton 20, Sydenham 17. The singles will be commenced tomorrow.
