The collision was startlingly sudden. The barque was struck amidships and sunk in two minutes. The survivors jumped on to the deck of the Burutu in the nick of time. LONDON, December 27. The captain ftf the Burutu states that the Eugene showed no navigation lights. Both vessels were interlocked until ■ the Eugene filled and sank.
