DISTRICT NEWS.
WAIHAORUNGA. (From our own Corespondent). An event that has been looked forward to in the district for some time took place in the school room last evening, when the bachelors and spinstrs’ ball was brought to a successful issue. There was a large attendance and a most enjoyaljje evening was brought to a close i nthe early hours of the morning. The secretaries (Miss A. Chisholm and Mr W, Price) are to be congratulated on the success of their arrangements, The music was in the capable hands of Miss Neill and extras were played by local amateurs. Air S. Price gave every satisfaction as M.C. and was assisted by Mr B. McKee, both gentlemen receiving a vote of thanks.
During the evening Mr H .Max Whatman returned thanks on behalf of the guests of (he evening, lions'.
