POULARD'S PICTURES. The programme to be screened by Mr. Pollard at the Princess Theatre on Monday night will be one of the strongest and most varied that ho has jvt shown hero. The star picture "The Christian,” is a star in itself. It is produced by special arrangement with “ Hayward’s Limited,” and is shown in addition to the usual bi-week-ly programme. Mostly every one has read Hall Caine’s groat work. To those it will be doubly interesting as the story is so connected that it is easily followed whilst to the few who are not familiar with it, it will como as a welcome surprise. It serves to introduce to a local audience the celebrated Australian actress, bliss Eugenio Duggan; who will be seen as “Glory Quayle.”

LAST NIGHT’S BENEFIT. Crammed, jammed and packed to the doors was the state of affairs at the AVestland Opera House for the benefit tendered to Mr. P. Allardyco b,/ the Mascot Biograph Picture Coy. Tue programme was received throughout with applause. Mr. Kelly was loudly applauded for his excellent descriptive song, “Egypt.” Mr. Allardyce should receive deserving help from the benefit. During the evening Mr. F. Whiley thanked all those who had helped in making the affair such a huge success and stated that the credit was not duo to him hut to those who has so materially assisted by packing the housa to the very doors. 'Later in the evening Mr. D. Groaney thanked the management for their help in such a deserving case, and also for the other benefits they had given. Is; concluding he stated that a movement was afoot to give Mr. Whiley a return complimentary benefit at a near date. The Band turned out in full force ami deserves its full share of appreciation for such beneficial help U u such an occasion.
