VISITING BOXERS SPEND XMAS WALKING WELLINGTON STREETS
CHRISTCHURCH, Yesterday (PA). —Strangers in a strange land, nine Aust raffan* boxers who will take part in Ihe Centennial Games spent a not very festive Christmas Day wandering around Wellington. No one met them on thtir arrival, and as they did not know any Wellington or New Zealand boxers or officials, they could not get In touch with anyone able to help t hem.
Accordingly, after a meal at an hoixi, there was nothing the Australians could do but parade the streets of a practically deserted capital. They came to Christchurch by the steamer exj resj last night and were met at the Chris'.church station today by the manager of the Australian boxmg team (Mr. L. Newell). It was a little unfortunate that ti cse boys had to fend for themselves, particularly on Christmas Day, s?id Mr. Newell today. As they did nut know their way around, lhey could not do much In the way of proviling Cbristmar entertainment for themselves.
