Baby Boy Drowned in Copper Of Water
CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night (PA). —A baby boy was drowned in an old rain water-filled copper at his home at Clarkeville, near Kaiapoi, today. He was Charles Brian Dodge, aged 17 months, son of Mr and Mrs Charlo;: Dodge, of Clarkeville.
About 10.30 this morning the child was playing in the backyard of his home. His mother saw him wandering at the end of the garden near a l paddock and brought him back. She I then went on with her work, and I about, a quar er of an hour latei noticed that he was missing. She found him with his head and shoulders in the old copper. Artificial respiration was applied without success.
