MOBILISATION CHIEFS APPOINTED IN U.S.A.
WASHINGTON, Dec. 21 (Recd. 8 pm).—Mr Charles E. Wilson took office today as Director of Defence Mobilisation and immediately appointed General Lucius Clay and a banker, Mr Sidney Weinberg, as bis assistants.
Mr Wilson was formerly president of the General Electric Company. He said General Clay and Mr Weinberg would serve without compensation. General Clay was formerip United States commander at Berlin. Mr Weinberg is senior partner of the Goldman Sochs Company, a New York investment and banking firm. He was vice-chairman of the War Production Board during the second World Dar.
