Small Girl Drowned In Lagoon
GREYMOUTH, I,ast Night (P.A.). —Beverley Henham, aged two and ahalf, only child of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Henham, was drowned early this afternoon. The girl, who with her mother was at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Price, of Paroa, near Greymouth, wandered away about lunch time. When she was missed a search was made for her and her body was found floating face downwards in the lagoon formed where the saltwater creek meets the sea.
The lagoon runs behind the settlement at this point. Artificial respiration was commenced immediately and continued after the arrival of Dr. H. S. Ray, but was unsuccessful an inquest was opened and adjourned sine die after evidence of identification had been given.
