Holiday Hours
Hours in which petrol may be obtained in Wanganui over the Christmas holiday period have been announced by the petrol resellers’ section of the Wanganui branch of the Motor Retail Trade Association. Tonight the majority of stations will remain open till 11 o’clock. Tomorrow the usual hours, 8 a.m. to noon, will be observed. On Sunday and Monday all day closing will be observed, and on Tuesday, December 26, opening hours will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Normal hours will be observed for the remainder of the week. On Monday, January 1 (New Year’s Day) petrol will be obtainable between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. For the remainder of this month the emergency station will continue to be the St. John’s Super Service Station (corner Victoria Avenue and Glasgow Street). Bowsers Ltd. (corner Victoria Avenue and Plymouth Street) will take over for the month of January. Hours will be from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., with an extension if the demand requires it. Supplementary suburban emergency station for this month is J. and J. Aiderton, Aramoho, and for January, Dunlop’s, Aramoho. These stations will observe the same hours as the city stations.
