Bread And Water Diet For Prisoners Who Tried To Escape
WELLINGTON, Yesterday (PA).— Two prisoners, Raymond Hopewell r.nd David Archibald, were placed on bread and water by Mr. J. Hassell S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court today, for attempting to escape from the Witako prison Beth men will be confined to their ceffs whilq on bread and water, but will receive normal rations on Christmas Day. Every third day, they will receive normal rations and exercise. The prosecution stated that the wan er found cell boards loosened and bricks removed from the basement.
