N.Z. ATTITUDE TO TREATMENT OF WAR PRISONERS
WELLINGTON, Last Night 'P.A.) .—The Minister of External Affairs (Mr. Doidge) announced this evening that the New Zealand Government had sent the following message to the president of the International Committee of the Red Cross with the request that it be transmitted to the North Korean authorities: “The New Zealand forces operating In Korea will observe any undertakings in regard to the humane treatment of prisoners-of-war and sick and wounded entered into on behalf of the United Nations forces by the Uni’ed Nations commander-in-chief.” Similar messages have been sent by the United Kingdom. Australian, South African and Indian Governmenbk.
