City Council Will Support Tourist House Licence For Pipiriki
An application for a tourist house licence ror Pipiriki House will be supported by the Wanganui City Council when it comes beiore the Licensing Control Commission at sittings in Wanganui this month. This was decided on by the council at its monthly meeting last night, acting on a recommendation made by the Finance Committee. "The committee feels that the council should give support to the proposal that a tourist house licence should be granted to this establishment,’’ the comhiittee stated. "It is further of the opinion that the grounds of such support should be those of public interest, and as a means of developing the tourist trade which is of pressing importance to the city and district.” The committee also recommended that an officer of the council .give evidence before the Commission in support of the application.
