Good Progress Made In Road Extension Scheme At Gonville
The extension of Koromiko Road into Gonville Avenue has already reached a point well to the west of Owen Street—a distance of 23 chains. But the work is now only in a preliminary stage and it may be 12 months before the road is opened to traffic.
The contractor, whose tender was accepted by the City Council only a few weeks ago, is also making good progress with the extension of York Street into Puriri Street to a point almost opposite the Gonville Sanitarium.
Lupin has been sown to arrest sand drift where the bulldozing has been finished, as little further road preparation will be undertaken this financial year.
