Close Racing For Wanganui Rowing Club’s Trophy

The Wanganui Rowing Club’s Stroud Memorial Fours produced some close racing before the winner was eventually found in K. Gullery’s crew. Eight crews entered the event and no more than a canvas separated the pairs matched in the heats. Even Gallery had to row twice for the final decision. In the first final, K. Hogan dead-heated with him. Results were: Heats: Wilson beat Phillipson; Gallery beat Smith; Reynolds beat Reid; Hogan beat Reynolds. Semi-final: Gullery beat Wilson; Hogan beaot Reynolds.
