GOOD SCORING IN WEEK-END GOLF AT CASTLECLIFF CLUB

Recent rain has made the course conditions at the Castlecliff Golf Club conducive to first-class scoring, and hany handicap reductions were earned over the week-end. The senior Stableford was won by R. O. Foster with 39 points and the senior bogey match went to H. A. ’Gaskin, 6 up and 73 off the stick. The junior Stableford was won by M. G. Reid with a nett 65 and 40 points, while the junior bogey saw A. Climo record a nett 67 to be 4 up. A. R. Kitto had an easy win from J. F. Rowe in the senior championship final. Rowe did not find touch at any part of the 36 holes, while Kitto was playing real good golf. H. A. Gaskin won the Power Cup handicap final from Leo Whetton, 3 and 1, after Gaskin had played the game of his career to return par figures of 73. A. R. Kitto was the winner of the eclectic competition for the Grieve Cup, 63 plus 1, 64. A four-ball best-ball bogey match will be played next Saturday afternoon, players to choose their own partners. The conclusion of the winter season and the commencement of the summer competitions will celebrated on Sunday next with an all-day programme. Golfers from local clubs will be welcomed.
